This website and your emails

Who is responsible?

Little Hello is a project run by Richard Copeland in the United Kingdom. Richard is responsible for the personal information handled through this website and its support mailbox. Contact hello@saylittlehello.co.uk with any privacy question or request.

When you visit

You can browse without creating an account or giving us your name. The website has no registration form, mailing list, advertising tools or visitor analytics added. It does not set advertising or analytics cookies, or use browser storage to track you. If you change the appearance or font, your choices are saved in this browser so they stay the same on your next visit. These preferences are not sent to us. Choose “Use device setting” and “Original” to return to the defaults.

Our hosting provider, Krystal Hosting Ltd, serves the pages, images and video. Hosting systems may record technical information such as your IP address, requested pages, time of visit, browser information and errors to deliver and protect the website and investigate faults. Playing the video requests it from our own hosting; it is not a YouTube or social-media embed.

When you email

We receive your email address, any name you provide, and the content and attachments you send. We use these to answer your question, provide support and resolve issues. Giving this information is optional, but we need a way to reply if you want an answer. Emailing us does not subscribe you to marketing.

Please keep support requests focused on the problem. Avoid sending medical records, private check-in screenshots or someone else’s health information. We do not ask you to send health information to use this website or get general support.

Why we use this information

For ordinary enquiries and website operation, we rely on legitimate interests: answering people who contact us, keeping the site available and secure, and fixing problems. We use only information relevant to those purposes. Where we must retain information to meet a legal obligation, that obligation is the basis for doing so. We do not use website or email information to make automated decisions about you or to profile your health.

Who handles it and where

Richard handles support enquiries. Krystal provides website and mailbox hosting; email also passes through your own email provider. Information may be disclosed where legally required or necessary to deal with a legal claim. We do not sell your personal information.

Providers may use service partners outside the UK. Krystal describes its locations and transfer safeguards, including adequacy decisions and contractual safeguards, in its privacy policy. Contact us if you need more information about the services used for your enquiry. Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.

How long information stays

Support correspondence is kept while the question or issue is being handled, and afterwards only where needed for related follow-up, an unresolved complaint or a legal obligation or claim. The need to retain it depends on whether the matter is resolved and whether these reasons still apply; information no longer needed is deleted. Technical logs and backup copies follow the hosting service’s rotation and retention settings. Deleting a live item may not immediately remove an existing backup copy. You can ask us about information held in your case.

THE IPHONE BETA

What happens to your check-ins?

This section explains the current beta’s storage and sharing features. The website does not receive your check-ins. App privacy information and testing instructions should also be read when joining the beta; this website notice is not a substitute for any consent needed for health-data processing.

Private by choice

Your saved check-ins and preferences stay on your device unless you choose to share. Check-ins can include mood, energy, discomfort, support needs, medication status and notes, depending on what you choose to enter. Device backups may include local app data. Optional reminders are scheduled on your device. The app has no advertising or analytics tools added.

Sharing inside Little Hello

In-app connections use your Apple iCloud account. Connection names, the sender name, invited participants and updates you send are handled through Apple’s CloudKit sharing. Shared updates include the chosen text and dates. Invited people can see updates you send to their connection. Creating or saving a private check-in does not automatically send its contents to a family member.

Sharing through Messages or WhatsApp

When you choose another app, the reviewed update is handed to that app. You choose the recipient there. That service handles the message under its own terms and privacy policy. Someone who receives an update may keep a copy or screenshot.

Removing information

Local deletion does not remove iCloud-shared updates, external messages or recipient copies. Removing a shared update or stopping access cannot erase copies someone already made. Cloud updates remain until removed; device and iCloud backups are also subject to Apple’s settings and policies.

Apple and beta feedback

Apple operates iCloud and TestFlight and may handle diagnostics and feedback as described in its policies. If you submit TestFlight feedback, the developer can receive the feedback and associated diagnostic information Apple makes available. Please avoid including private health details in feedback or screenshots. See Apple’s privacy information.

Little Hello is a communication tool, not an emergency service or a way to monitor someone’s safety. Not sending an update does not create a missed-check-in warning.

Your choices and rights

You can ask about the information we hold about you, request access or a correction, or request deletion or restriction. Data portability may apply in certain circumstances. Rights depend on the information and why it is being used; we may need to verify your identity using only what is necessary.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email hello@saylittlehello.co.uk and tell us what you would like us to review. We normally respond to data-rights requests within one month, subject to the exceptions allowed by law.

If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can contact us and you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Young visitors

You do not need to share health details to browse this site. If anything here is unclear, you can ask us to explain it or ask a trusted adult to help. This site does not offer public accounts or collect children’s check-ins.

Changes

We will update this page when the website or its handling of information changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
